Central Bhutan is often referred to as the spiritual heart of the kingdom, characterized by its deep religious history and stunning high-altitude valleys. The region is anchored by Bumthang, home to some of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, and Trongsa, which features the country’s largest and most impressive dzong. To the south, the lush districts of Zhemgang and Sarpang (including Gelephu) offer rich biodiversity and opportunities for wildlife spotting, while Tsirang is renowned for its organic produce and scenic rolling hills.
